Consentless analytics

Consentless analytics counts visits without writing anything to the visitor's device and without an identifier that follows them.

Consentless analytics is measurement designed to run before a visitor has given consent. It leaves the device untouched: nothing is stored on it, and nothing links one visit to the next. That still covers a lot: visits, pages, where visits came from, countries, devices and events. What it gives up is recognition, so people, return visits and journeys across days need a different setup.

Whether a site needs consent depends on what it collects and why. Consentless measurement narrows what is collected; the assessment stays with the site owner.

In MIRA FIVE

Every new website source starts consentless. No cookies are set, nothing is stored on the device, no identifier is sent, and the browser’s language, time zone and screen size are not read. Visits, pages, channels, campaigns, countries, devices and events are counted. IP addresses are used to look up country and region, and are never stored with your analytics data. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control are honoured, and bots are filtered.

People, journeys and funnels need full mode, for visitors who consent, as described under with consent. The dashboard shows how much of your traffic that covers, for example “85% with consent”. Counting visitors without consent while following those who agree takes a website source set to Full, with each page choosing the mode per visitor; a data-mode="full" tag alone sends nothing for visitors who decline. A feature flag on a consentless website gives everyone the same value.
