PostHog is an open-source toolkit for product teams: product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, experiments, surveys, error tracking and a data warehouse, with a large free tier each month. MIRA FIVE is a PostHog alternative for a narrower job. It is analytics built around the person and organised for marketing: where people come from, how they move, what they do and what they want, with A/B tests and feature flags on the same script.

Who is each tool for?

PostHog suits product and engineering teams that want many tools on one event stream and are comfortable building the views they need. Its free tier covers 1 million analytics events, 5,000 session recordings and 1 million feature flag requests a month.

MIRA FIVE suits founders and marketing leads who pay for ads and want the answer ready: which channel brings the customers who pay? The Overview opens with people, new people, buyers and revenue, and Acquisition shows buyers for nine channels, AI assistants among them.

Which channel brings the customers who pay?

In MIRA FIVE this is the first screen. Buyers and revenue sit beside every channel and campaign, and each buyer opens into a page with every visit. The Google Ads connection imports daily spend per campaign, joined by utm_campaign or gclid, for cost per buyer and ROAS.

PostHog can answer it too, with more assembly. Its marketing analytics connects Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok and other networks and shows cost per conversion; its revenue analytics reads Stripe and other billing sources. Both are marked beta.

When PostHog is the better choice

Choose PostHog if you want session replay, surveys, error tracking or a data warehouse beside your analytics, or if its free tier covers your volume. Choose it for spend from Meta and other ad networks today, or to run the MIT-licensed code yourself. MIRA FIVE is a hosted service, credits first or last touch, and has no replay or surveys.

Where is the data hosted?

PostHog offers a US cloud and an EU cloud hosted in Frankfurt. MIRA FIVE is run by Cloo GmbH in Auerbach and hosted in Germany; analytics data is stored and processed in Germany. A new MIRA FIVE website source sets no cookies and stores nothing on the device; people, experiments and per-visitor flags need a Full website source and a visitor’s consent, or a server. Compliance depends on what is collected and why, and hosting is one part of that.

Running both

Keep PostHog for product work and add the MIRA FIVE script for acquisition and buyers. Send the same paid order to both and compare for a month. Free includes 25,000 events a month with no card, and Pro is €20 a month for 100,000 events.

Questions and answers

Is MIRA FIVE a PostHog alternative?

Does MIRA FIVE have A/B tests and feature flags?
Yes, on every plan. A test compares the original with one change, is decided by one goal and is planned up front. Flags cover on/off, variants and remote config.
Which one costs less?
It depends on volume. PostHog is free up to 1 million analytics events a month, then usage-based. MIRA FIVE is free for 25,000 events and €20 a month flat for 100,000, VAT included.
Can I run MIRA FIVE and PostHog together?
Yes. Keep PostHog for product work and add MIRA FIVE for acquisition and buyers. The two scripts run independently on the same site.
