How to see your Google Ads cost per buyer
Google Ads cost per buyer divides spend by the people who paid, not by the conversions Google counts. How MIRA FIVE joins spend to visits and shows ROAS.
A click ID is a unique code an ad platform adds to a link when someone clicks an ad, such as gclid for Google Ads or fbclid for Meta.
When someone clicks an ad, most large ad platforms append a parameter with a unique ID for that click. Google Ads adds gclid, Meta adds fbclid, Microsoft Advertising adds msclkid, TikTok adds ttclid and LinkedIn uses li_fat_id. The ID tells your analytics which platform sent the visit, even when the link carries no UTM parameters, and lets the platform match the visit to the campaign and ad that were clicked.
That makes click IDs the most dependable signal for paid traffic. UTM parameters are typed by people and drift over time; click IDs are added by the platform on every click, as long as auto-tagging is switched on.
Click IDs from Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok and LinkedIn are recognised when a visit arrives, and People can be filtered by ad platform. With the Google Ads connection, a gclid joins the visit to its campaign, so the campaign’s spend sits beside the people and buyers it brought. Meta Ads is next.
