Which channel brings the customers who pay?
Rank marketing channels by the buyers they bring instead of visits, with first or last touch, revenue per channel, campaigns and Google Ads cost per buyer.
Short answer
MIRA FIVE sorts visits from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini and Copilot into their own channel, AI assistants, from the referrer. Acquisition › Channels shows their visits, people and buyers; only a click through to your site leaves a visit to count.
People now ask ChatGPT which merino jumper to buy, and some of them click through to a shop. You want to see those visits as their own channel, and you want to know whether they turn into buyers. MIRA FIVE tracks traffic from ChatGPT and the other assistants as a channel called AI assistants, next to search, social, email and your campaigns.
By where the visit came from. When a visitor clicks a link in an answer, the browser usually sends the assistant’s address as the referrer. MIRA FIVE matches it against the assistants’ sites:
| Assistant | Referrer |
|---|---|
| ChatGPT | chatgpt.com |
| Perplexity | perplexity.ai |
| Claude | claude.ai |
| Gemini | gemini.google.com |
| Copilot | copilot.microsoft.com |
A link whose utm_source names an assistant, such as utm_source=chatgpt, counts the same way. Tags for
paid traffic or email keep their own channel.
The same columns as every other channel: visits, people, buyers and conversion. In the sample shop, AI assistants sent 86 visits over 30 days, from 40 people, and 7 of them bought. That makes it the smallest channel and the best converting one, at 18%.
ChatGPT brought 52 of those visits and 6 buyers, Perplexity 21 visits and 1 buyer, Claude 9 visits and Gemini 4. To see one assistant on its own, filter the Overview on its referrer, such as chatgpt.com. The Overview then becomes ChatGPT’s page, with its people, buyers and revenue.
Yes, wherever you control the link. A link you place inside an assistant, such as in a custom GPT, can
carry utm_source=chatgpt and a utm_campaign. The visit then lands in AI assistants with its campaign,
even when the referrer is empty. Keep the tag to links that live in the assistant, so a link shared
elsewhere is counted where it was clicked.
